What I'm all about

Dating at BYU or just in general can sometimes be a stressful thing. You always have those questions of, what to do? Where to go? How to get there? Who to ask? How to ask? Do they even like me? How am I going to come up with the money? I’m no expert on dating so I’m not going to pretend that I am, but I have seen too many instances where boys use these excuses to weasel out of making a date. What I want to do is give information and ideas for fun, cheap dates that are close by and accessible to students in the Provo area; as well as offer tips to guys and advice for girls on what is acceptable and what to shy away from. Basically what I want to do here is help you to Make the Date.

Ya, I’m all about a happy family.

  1. Very applicable to single life here in good ol' Provo. I'll definitely be pointing an open hear at your blog in hopes of discovering deep secrets of the female mind. Don't let me down please :)

  2. I am very interested to continue to read your blog! I am married, but I definitely know what you mean about the dating scene at BYU. Since all of my dating experience was not at BYU but in Iowa, I think that there is a slight problem here. Dating should be simple and cheap. We are all poor college students. I don't think single students need to come up with extravagant ideas to ask somebody out. Being a guy, I agree that we do use some pretty lame excuses to "weasel" out of dates, but for all those single guys out there I'm sure they'd agree that girls should not expect some romantic proposal for a date! I think most girls don't expect it, but BYU guys feel obligated to living up to all the stories and hype that they hear! Please help them out by giving them some great, cheap, fun, and easy ideas for dates!

  8. Now for a more serious comment. I'm going on a blind date next weekend. I always find them to be quite awkward, sometimes just a good story to tell your friends afterward but sometimes they can actually be fun. Do you have any ideas/advice for blind dates?

  10. Holly- My advice for you on your blind date would just be to go and have fun! Be open to a good time, if you decide it's going to be awkward before then chances are it will be! I actually think blind dates are really fun, their no pressure, just a good time. And who knows, maybe something will come of it! My bishop married a blind date :)

as for October 16th, I'll get back to you.
